CLIC Programme Wins AoC Beacon Award for Employer Engagement

05/03/2026

The College Local Innovation Centres (CLIC) programme has been recognised with the Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Award for College Engagement with Employers.

Funded by Innovate UK, the two-year partnership has strengthened the role of regional colleges in supporting innovation across the city region. The programme has helped colleges play a key role in shaping and delivering innovation initiatives while supporting businesses to explore new ideas and opportunities.

CLIC highlights the impact of strong collaboration between colleges and employers. By working closely with businesses — including those who may not traditionally see themselves as part of the innovation economy — the programme has helped unlock new potential, support growth and strengthen links between education and industry.

The award recognises the collective efforts of colleges across the region, including:

  • City of Glasgow College

  • Glasgow Clyde College

  • West College Scotland

  • New College Lanarkshire

  • South Lanarkshire College

This recognition reflects the commitment, ambition and partnership working of everyone involved in delivering the programme and demonstrates the important role colleges play in supporting innovation and employer engagement.
